Although she was already seven, she was very determined to learn to ride her bike. Her mom watched over her and helped her when eventually she got the hang of it. She was motivated to learn, unlike her brother Mark who her mom forced to learn.

During her 6th grade award ceremony, Madi won an award for her academic achievements in mathematcis. One male and female from the grade wins. She was handed the award while her mom and sister watched in the bleachers and she was very proud of herself.

With her church, Madi, her brother, and her mom went to Joplin Missouri to aid with Tornado relief after a tornado struck the town. It was also her first time on a plane. After flying into St.Louis, they drove 5 hours to Joplin and spent the week helping to clean up the town. They also took a tour of all the damage including the destroyed high school and hospital, It was a very eye opening experience.

Everyone in Madi's family but her oldest brother flew to Disney World for a week. They stayed in the Art of Animation Resort. This was Madi's second time in an amusement park. She enjoyed the roller coasters in Hollywood Studios, especially the Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster. She had always wanted to go there

Madi and her brother, along with other church members, went to Broad Street Ministry on Broad Street (across from the Kimmel Center) in Philadelphia. They slept on the floor in sleeping bags and had no air conditioning. Throughout the week, they went to many different places in Philadelphia and did service work such as gardening and working with the homeless. It was so close to home, she realized how she could help in her own community.

Madi has been playing piano for 4 years now and had her first piano recital at Jacob's Piano. The recital was planned by her piano teacher, who she meets with every Monday, Becky. Other students of her teacher also performed.

Madi participated in confirmation class with her church to become a member of Carmel Presbyterian. Abigail, her pastor and mentor, led the class. Madi and her brother along with 2 other middle schoolers were confirmed.

Madi and her family drove with their camper for 7 hours to Niagara Falls, Canada. They stayed for a week and toured the area. It was the first time she needed a passport and her first time in a different country. She loved the falls and went on the Maid of the Mist boat tour.

Madi attended her cousin's wedding. Her and her sister, Danielle were bridesmaids while her brother was a groomsman. She walked down with her brother. She was very nervous but in the end it was very fun and she didn't end up tripping on the way up the aisle.
