    The Luisiana teritory was bought from the French, for 15 million dollars.
    This is important because this is the area the expodition would be traveling through.

    The expedition starts. Lewis and Clark leave from St.louis.

    The expedition met the Tenton Sioux tribe which alomost ended in a fight. Cheif Black Buffalo resolved any fighting before it could begin.
    This is important because itshowed the relations between the and the different tribes.

    A french fur trapper living with the Hidatsas tribe with his Shoshone wife Sacagawea are hired as interpreters.
    This is important because they met Sacagawea who is important to their expedition in the future.

    While scouting Lewis finds the great falls of the Missouri river. It takes them a month to get around this.
    This is important bcasuse this was a large obstacle to get around

    The shipment sent from mandan arrives is delivered to Jefferson.
    Lewis is nearing the continental divide, and only finds more mountains.
    what he finds is what becomes the Rocky mountains. And it slowed them down.

    Lewis and Clark meet the Shoshone people. And their leader is Sacagawea' brother.
    This is where they had established Fort Fortunate.

    By majority vote they cross the Columbia River to set up camp for the winter.

    Fort Clatsop is presented to the Clatsop indians and the expedition starts home
    This is important because it shows the relations between them and the indians

    The expedition reaches the Bitterroot mountains and must stay with the Nez Perce indians to wait for the snow to melt.
    This is important because it shows the reltions again and it slows them down.

    On their return to Washiton D.C. Lewis and Clark are treated like heroes and are given large rewards.
    This is important because is marks the end of their two year journey.
