    On July 27, the Race Riots began when a black man was hit with a stone and drowned after drifting onto a white section at Lake Michigan. Many African Americans erupted into violence and these race riots lasted unitl August 2; which left 38 people dead and hundreds injured and homeless.

    Radios first came to be around the 1920's. This was the first time people were actually able to connect to the world and get updates on current events.
