    Elisha Otis invented the first elevator brake. This invention or creation does have a lot of importance, considering without an elevator brake, the elevators would fall. Elevators are used everyday in many peoples lives, this invention has made elevators a safety much more reliable.
  • Macy's

    Macy's is still an important store today because it is still shopped at by many, many shoppers today. Without this store, many people would be unhappy with the select other stores, who sell similar clothing.
  • Andrew Carnegie

    Andrew carnegie made expansions in the steel industry. It is still important because it is still used today. It also makes the\ings cheaper and safer.
  • Christopher Sholes

    Christopher Sholes invented the typewriter. Without the typewriter, I highly doubt that we would be as far as we are with technology. I doubt that we would be as far as we are with laptops, computers, etc. etc. The typewriter is an important invention in the world. , without it we would be no where with technology.

    Alexander Graham Bell created or invented the first practical telephone. This invention has a lot of importance, considering how far we have come with telephones. This invention has made communication between people much faster, as well as easier.

    Joel Tiffany invented the summer and refrigerator car. One way this is important, is it expanded the food industry. Also, it began the creation of grocery stores, and made food available to different regions.

    Frank Winfield Woolworth invented the FW woolworth company, that sold merchandise at a discounted price. This company is important because without it, we wouldnt have foot locker! A store that many shoppers love.

    Thomas Edison invented more than one useful thing, but i feel the light bulb has the most importance. The practical incandescent light has the most importance to me, because I use it everyday, and I can see in the dark now.

    Ottmar Mergenthaler invented the Linotype Machine. This machine could quickly assemble complete lines of type for use in printing presses. This revolutionized the art of printing and so on.
  • George Eastman

    George Eastman developed the roll film. This is important because without a roll film, many memories would be forgotten. The roll film keeps track of memories through pictures.
  • John D. Rockefeller

    John D. Rockefeller invented the first standard oil company. His standard oil company dominated the oil industy. Oil is a problem that has been the cause of many wars, but it is still important. Oil is still important because we use it today. Oil is a major source that we use toaday.
