    This man took the Sardinian Army and he organized it to be succesful. He improved trade with all the other countries. He was a very great influence on all the other political people. He was a big contribution to the unification of Italy.
  • Napolean III

    Napolean III
    Napolean and Cavour secretly planned a strategy to go against Austria. Napolean soon made an agreement with Austria. For this, France agreed to send troops to Austrians from Lombardy and Venetia. Napolean was was of the well recognized leader at this time.
  • Unification problems

    Even though they were already united during this time Italy was still facing many problems. These problems included, not many Italians had expierence with self- government meaning the didnt really know what was going on. Another prblem was, tension was still going on between the North and South agriculture. Wars began later in the 1880's. Then soon the Mediterranean region was divided.

    War with Austria
    Both Cavour and Napolean had a lot to do with the War against Austria. Things didnt go as Cavour expected, Austria declared war. Napolean on the other hand didnt expect this at all. He was afraid of losing what Sardina had already made he finally agreed with the French.
  • Garibaldi's expedition

    Garibaldi's expedition
    Giuseppe Garibaldi was a man at this time who led the way to Italy's freedom. Garibaldi led a very powerful army with sbout 100 soldiers, this was called the "Expedition of the Thousand". He made an agreement to make Victor Emmanule king. He brought Italy to success and he became a hero because of this.
