    In 1764, The British Parliment Passed the Sugar Act. The Sugar act put taxes on all the sugar and molasses that the colonies imported. This weas the first act that was passed in the colonies to raise money. Prime Minister George wanted to raise money for the standing army In North America to protect the colonists from attacks.

    Stamp Act
    In !765, British Parlement passed the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act requied the British colonies to buy an official stamp with all paper items."The Stamp Act was Parliaments first attempt to raise money by taxing the colonists directly, rather than by taxing imported goods."(United States History pg.100) The colonists were angered by the Stamp Act and started to protest. The Stamp Act was used to raise money for Britain.

    Sons of Liberty was a secret society formed in 1765.It was formed by Patriots after they were angered by the Stamp Act.One leader of the Sons of Liberty was Samuel Adams. The Sons of Liberty was formed in the North Americamn colonies. The society was formed to protect the coloniste rights.

    The Townshed Acts wetre passefd in 1767. They were passed by the British Parliament to the British colonies.They put taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea. They were passed to raise money to pay British govener and judges. The colonists boycotted the British goods in response to the Townshed Acts.

    The Boston Massecure took place in Massecusetts.It was between the British soldiers and the colonists. Five civilians were killed.The Boston Massecure was used as a propaganda against the British soldiers. The story of the shootings was quickly spread throughout the colonies.

    The Tea Act was passec in 1773. It was passed by the British Parliament. It allowed tea to be sold to the colonies by the British East India Company. Merchants in the colonies thought selling the cheap tea would run them out of business. The colonists responded with the Boston Tea Party.

    Committees of Correspondence was founded by Samuel Adams. "Each committee got in touch with other towns and colonies. Its members shared ideas and information about the new British laws and ways to challenge them."(United States History pg.99). Committees of Correspondence were shadow governments in which Patriot leaders established plans of action against Britain.

    The Boston Tea party happened on the night of December 16,1173.It took place in The Boston harbor.It was a political protest against the Tea Act.The colonists were angered by the taxes on tea. Colonists dressed as indians and dumped 340 tea chests into the harbor.

    The Continental Congress started in 1774. It continued until 1989. It was made up of delegates from the Thirteen colonies. It was the governing body of the colonies during the American Revelution. It governed the colonies and fought against the British.

    The Coercive Acts were passed in 1174. They were passed by the British Parliament. They were referred to by the colnists as the Intolerable Acts."The British hoped that these steps would bring back order to the colonies. Instead they simply increased peoples anger at Britain."
