Built his own microscope to look at a thin slice of cork in 1665 and saw these little boxes that reminded him of prison cells so he named them cells.

In 1676, Leeuwenhoek looked at water under a microscope and saw small organisms which were bacteria and called them animacules. People didn't beleive him but later on Robert Hooke did the same experiment and proved it to be correct.

In 1831 He discovered the nucleus by looking at cells under a microscope.

In 1834 he discovered something new these were protozoans.

Studied plants under a microscope and figured out that plants were made up of cells. He also thought that cells just showed up out of nothing.
