Leeuwenhoek is responsible for seeing the first bacteria cell and the first to see a living cell. He made this discovery after refining microscopes in his time and looking at a specimen on a pin. He improved on hooke by seeing inside of the cell, not just outside. -

Schwann
Schwann proved that spontaneous generation was false by using experiments that tested cell generation in sterilzed habitats. -
Schleiden
Schleiden was responsible for proving that all plants are made of cells and that all plant cells come from other plant cells , he found this out by investigating plants under a microscope. This improved upon schwann's spontaneous generation falsity by getting specific proof of how plants come from others. -
Virchow
Virchow built upon spontaneous generation by specficly stating "any cell comes from another cell" He found this discoery looking at schwann's research and a man named robert remark.This improves upon schleiden because he talked only of plant cells, while Virchow showed all cells are the same in they come from other cells.
