  • Francesco Redi

    Francesco Redi
    Italian physician, naturalist
He was the first scientist overturn the theory of spontaneous generation by illustrating that maggots come from eggs of flies.
He conducted many experiments to prove his idea. He prepare some jars and put carrion inside. He left one part open and another part covered. He found that coverd jars didn't changer and other parts some maggots has growing up. After that the maggots turn into files.

  • Robert Hooke

    Robert Hooke
He was English natural philosopher, architect and polymath. Robert Hooke believed the cells had served as containers in the living cork tree.Hooke was the first person to use the word "cell" to identify microscopic structures when he was describing cork.
He designed and manufactured vacuum pumps, microscopes and telescopes, and they used a microscope observations written as "microscopy"
  • Lazzaro Spallanzani

    Lazzaro Spallanzani
He was an Italian catholic priest, biologist, and physiologist He made important contributions to the experimental study of bodily functions and animal reproduction. His investigations into the development of microscopic life in nutrient culture solutions paved the way.
  • Matthias Jakob Schleiden

    Matthias Jakob Schleiden
He was a famous German botanist and co-founder of the cell theory. He stated that the different parts of the plant organism are composed of cells or derivatives of cells. Also,Schleiden was one of the first German biologists to accept Darwin’s theory of evolution.
  • Theodor Schwann

    Rudolf Carl Virchow
He was a German doctor, anthropolpgist, pathologist, prehistorian , biologist. As konwn: "Father of Pathology, He created the modern concept of pathological processes by his application of the cell theory and to explain the effects of disease in the organs and tissues of the body. He emphasized that diseases arose is in the individual cells.
