Catherine McAuley was born 29th September 1778 in Dublin republic of Ireland. -
parents pass away
her father passed away in 1783 and her mother passed away in 1798 -
she builds a house
in 1827 Catherine decides to use her inheritance to build a house in baggot street to help the poor. -
house opens
on the 24th of September 1827 the house that she built for the poor, had finally opened. -
becoming a nun
in 1830 Catherine and two of her close friends had started training to become a nun -
founder of the mercy sisters
