August 4th 1955, on the Jimmy Darante show, Carmen was almost unconscious. On August 5th 1955, Miranda was caught dead the morning after the show. She died from high-blood pressure and kidney failure.

Singing Career
Not long after her birth Carmen moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After Carmen Miranda finished schooling she found a job. Carmen often sang during her job then leading her to a singing job at the local radio station. -

Carmen soon became a genuine Brazilian superstar. This took place in the year of 1928. Some of this was caused by her recording job at RCA. -
Moviestar!
Like most artist at the time Carmen become interested in film. In 1933 Carmen acted in A Voz Do Carnaval, a documentary. Also, in 1935 she acted in Alo Alo Brasil and Estudantes. Carmen was so good, she was even on Broadway. -
Memorials for her
The quadrangle in Hollywood has a designated spot for Carmen. The intersection on Hollywood Bl. and Orange Dr. is named Carmen Square. In 1940, she was the most paid performer in the USA. -
Marriage
On March 17th 1947, Carmen got married to David Sebastian. David actually produced one of Carmen’s films, Copacabana. Miranda finally gave up with her husband because he dealt with drugs so in 1955, Carmen divorced David Sabastian. -

Donations and Ceremonies

She was nicknamed “the Samba Ambassador” for her love of Samba and the Tango. Carmen was the most successful star with radio, cinemas, media, records, theater and Brazilian Casinos.
Carmen actually became a paper doll and a cartoon character in the movie Despicable Me.
