    During the D-day battles, Major encountered a small group of enemy soldiers. He managed to kill them off but one of them managed to light a grenade before dying. Major lost vision in his left eye, but he argued that he only needed one good eye to snipe the enemies.

    In the battle of Sheldt Major singlehandedly captured 93 German soldiers, and would have recieved his first DCM
    (Distinguished Conduct Medal), but he declined because Major thought that the General that would have gave it to him was "Incompetent" and did not deserve to give out medals.

    Major captured an armoured enemy car and was bringing it to the canadians but a land mine ekploded under it, Major broke both ankles, four ribs, and 3 places in his back. Most soldiers would have been done with the war but Major soon rejoined the conflict after partialy healing.

    In 1945, Leo Major singlehandedly liberated the dutch city of Zwolle. He made an army of Germans belive that a whole canadian army was attaking, but it was just him, a one man army of sorts. Eventually, the germans surrendered. His actions earned him his first DCM.

    In 1951, Leo Major married Pauline de Croiselle. They had 4 kids and later 5 grandchildren.

    In the Korean war, Leo Major led a team of snipers and helped to retake a key hill. He sniped the enemys for 3 days and won back the key hill. Him and a team of 18 people did what an army of 40,000 couldn't. He earned a second DCM for doing this.

    After the Korean war he lived with his familly in Montreal, and worked as a pipe fitter. Soon after, he retired, While retired he went to visit the netherlands many times and was recieved as a hero.

    Leo Major died at the age of 87 in 2008. He died in Longueuil, Quebec and was burried in the National Field of Honour Cementary.
