Gaspar Corte Real
Gaspar Corte Real was a portuguese explorer who sailed to greenland in 1500. Gaspar sailed for king manuel I of porugal, looking for a hidden passage to asia.(like many others)He reached Greenland but he did not find the northwest passage to asia . He went back to portugal and told everyone about the land he had found,Greenland.To get proof and he took about 50 native americans to portugal.

Jonn Cabot (Goivoni Coboto) was an italian explorer and navigator. He was sent to Canada by King Henrey VII of England's wishes. his misson (like lots of others) was to find a hidden pasage from north america to asia. He was unsuccesful. Cartier Jacquas was a freanch explorer who led 3 expiditions to Canada. He was tring to find a hidden passage through north america. (a north west hidden passage) but he did'nt find any.He tried to start a freanch settlement in what is now Quebec in may,19,1535, but it was abondend during a super cold winter. cartier named his settlement "kanata'' witch means village.Cartier then named the entire regien Canada.

Francis Drake
Sir Francis Drake was a britsh explorer, slave trater and a privateer(a private working for goverment) Drake led the second expedition to sail all around the world in a queast lasting from 1577 to 1580.QueenElizibith I had sent him on that quest. They first went to what is now brazil on september,6,1578.The irst nations there gave them food and water. Later in North America he claimed a land that he called "Nova Albion".

Cadillac Antonine De
Cadillac Antonine De was a french explorer , leader and a freanch soilder.He came to Canada and fought the Iraqua-Indians. He became the the president of Mikinac(michigan) he was allowed to make a trading post so he did.He was not popular with his trading post and he couldnt live off of it so since he had all of his crew with hm it was counted illegal.he was sent to france for a short time in prisen.

James Cook
James Cook was a british explorer and astronemer that went on many expiditions. He started exploring on Augest,26,1768.Cooks first journy was to study venus from the ground.On his second journy he went to Antartica to prove there was no large southern continent.Cooks last journy (like many others)was to find north west passage through North America.he was unsuccessful in finding the passage. He was killed by a mob.(a mob is a group of people that make troble or violence) -
George Vancouver
George Vancouver was an english explorer and navigater who went on an expidition and sailed to the northeast coast of North America.In may,1,792 his two dhips reached the river of Juan De Fuka.Vancouver named puget sound.He also named Mt.Rainier,Widdbey Island.Then the expadition sailed north and he found what is now vancouver Island. Vancouver Island and Vancouver city are named after him.

Roald Amundsen was a Norwegian polar explorer. He was the first person to fly over the north pole in a aircraft(dirible) on May,11,1926 ,and reach the south pole.He was the first person to reach the north and the south pole.
