Manuel, the gardener at Judge Miller's place, had a serious gambling problem. he owed many debts and was in need of lots of money for them, so he stole Buck and sold him.

Manuel sold buck to The Man in the Red Sweater. He beat Buck as he was transporting him to the next place that buck would be kept.

The Man in the Red Sweater gave Buck to Perault and Francois, two mail carriers in the Klondike.

Buck meets Curly, Spitz, and Dave, three dogs that are also owned by Perrault and Francios

When Buck first sees the snow it os strange to him. He is trying to sleep and he finds a hole that Billy dug to sleep in and so he climed in it to sleep.

Spitz is starting to mess with Buck by being very rude and stealing things from him like his food and water.

Curly is trying to be friendly to Spitz by greeting him but Spitz take it the wrong way and decides to attakc Curly kill her

Buck and Spitz get into a fight to the death. Eventually spitz dies and buck wins the fught.

After Spitz's death buck get to be lead dog of the pack. He does surprisingly well as the lead doing.

After having the dogs for a while Perrault and Francois have to get new jobs forcing them to sell the dogs.

Dave was very ill and he was holding the team back so the owners had to shoot and kill him.

The dogs are sold to Hal Charles and Mercades.

As the dogs are traveling they find a cabin and ask John Thorton about the ice that they are about to travel over. Once they try to leave they realize that Buck is not going to leave with them and they leave him with John Thorton.

Thornton and Buck grew to love each other very much.

Buck left for 4 days to go out and kill a moose. Eventually, Buck finally killed him.

When Buck returns he finds John Thornton is dead and the Yeehat Indians had killed him.

Buck gets very angry and kills the Yeehat cheif and many of the other Yeehats.

John Thornton was the only thing keeping Buck from answering the "call of the wild" and now that he is gone he can finally answer.
