Tennyson finds out that his sister, Bronte is going out with one of the strangest kids in school.

Tennyson plans to sabotage Brew and Bronte's day at mini golf.

While in the gym locker room, Tennyson sees that Brew has a number of gruesome scars on his back.

Tennyson thinks there is seriously someting with Brew and his family and goes to his house to find out. He finds that Brew isn't all that bad as he invites him into his house. He then helps Brew get rid of Tri Tip.

After helping Brew dispose the dead bull, Tennyson developes scabs on his hands but the next day in school, he notices they are gone and Brew has the exact same wounds.

While on their second date, Bronte sprains her ankle. However, it almost immediatly goes away and Brew starts getting a limp. Coincidence?

Bronte and Brew go to the pool. Brew exposes his back to Bronte. "It was a battlefield" (Shusterman 75).

Bronte cuts her hand and the wound transfers to Brew. She finally understands Brew's abilities.

As Brew was being bullied by Ozzy, Tennyson comes in, stops him, and stands up for Brew.

Brew goes to one of Tennyson's lacrosse games, and absorbes all of his hurt on the field, with Tennyson completly unaware.

This time, Brew still takes the hurt, buy Tennyson finds out and storms off.

Hoyt becomes foul and abuses Cody, with no Brew to protect him.

Brew finally goes home and decides he will stand up to Hoyt, however, Hoyt gets a stroke and wants to make Brew be his second life, and absorb the stroke. Brew stands up, and decides to not care and let Hoyt die.

Ozzy starts bullying Brew, however Tennyson is there to defend him, and he beats him up.

Cody chases after a kite that got stuck on a telephone pole. He climbs up the pole and gets stuck. Luckily, he has Brew to save him. Here, we see that Cody is able to hold his feelings and not let Brew take them.

Tennyson becomes a little selfish and wants to use Brew to help him win a lacrosse game. However, at the same game, Katrina breaks up with him and starts dating Ozzy. This almost drives Tennyson insane.

Bronte finally notices that Brew was almost completly changing their lives. She needs to somehow escape from this madness. She immediatly goes to the swimming pool for relief. While she's there, she hits her head and almost drowns. Luckily Brew is there to absorb some of this. After Brew "drowned" Tennyson and Bronte figured the only way to revive him, was to take it all back. Brew is revived, but he is in a coma.

Tennyson's parents have decides whats right and got a divorce. However, on the same day, Brew wakes up.
