Kadence's Birth and First Year of Life (Trust vs. Mistrust)
Kadence is born to her parents Jack and Theresa on October 31, 1979. Jack and Theresa are very involved parents and make sure that all of Kadence's needs are met. They ensure she is well fed, change her diapers, respond to her cries and provide her with lots of care and attention. In Erikson's first stage, trust vs mistrust the crisis is that an infant must feel loved and cared for so that the world feels like a safe place. In the absence of this care the infant learns to mistrust others. -

Kadence's Senior Year of High School
Kadence is now in her senior year of high school and has found that she has a unique talent for art. She has decided that she would like to apply to college to study art and hopefully one day be able to teach art. Kadence has surrounded herself with many friends that either share or support her interests. In Erikson's identity versus identity confusion adolescents must find their place within their culture and learn where their skills fit into their culture. -
Kadence's Wedding
On August 15, 2003, Kadence and Thomas marry in front of their family and friends. They have decided to spend the rest of their lives together and are very happy. In Erikson's Intimacy vs isolation the crisis is to make an intimate commitment to another individual. Individuals who are unable to do so can end up isolated.
