Bruno finds out he is moving.
Bruno sees the maid maria packing up his clothes so he asks his mom whats happening and his mother says they are moving to Out-With for their fathers work. But Bruno is said because he has to leave behind his friends. -
Bruno looks out his window!
While Bruno was in his room he discovered that there was a window. So he decided that he would look outside. he went up to the window and looked outside and he was shocked. He didnt know what he was looking at but it didnt make him feel very good. So he went to Gretel and told her to come look out of the window and see the children outside. She looked out of the window and they discovered that it wasnt just children on the other side but parents and grandparents -
Gretel and Bruno decide its the countryside!
Gretel stood looking out the window trying to figure out who those people were and why they are all matching and living in such ugly houses and she decided that they must be living on the countryside. But after they discover there arent any animals they decide it cant be farm or countryside. -
Bruno' Gretal and the Maid Maria!
One day when Bruno was in his room alone and lonely Maria came in toput away Brunos clean clothes so Bruno began to talk to her about how she is liking liking living here and everything but then Gretel comes upstairs and looks in his room and finds them talking and she gets mad and says he shouldnt be taking her away from work and told Maria to go start a bath for her and Bruno got mad and told Gretel to start her own bath but Gretel says she wont because its the maids job, so Maria does it. -
Christmas!
Bruno was missing his Grandparents and thought about the Christmas day whenBruno`s Dad wore his new uniform and Bruno`s Mother and grandfather were both very proud of him but his Grandmother. His Grandmother didnt like what her son was doing for a job and how everyone was proud of what he was doing. She was so disappointed with him to the point that she left and Bruno didnt see her to say goodbye. -
Bruno talks to his Father.
Bruno decides that the only way he will find out who those people are is by asking his father so he was trying to find him and then he sees him standing with some men all dressed in uniforms and they were all laughing and talking with his father about the job, then they all left and his father went into his offive where bruno wasnt allowed but he went in anyway and asked his father about the people and his father told him that they are bad people and that he isnt allowed to see them. -
Bruno Explores!
Bruno finally found a way to explore without being caught one day and as he was exploring he got closer to that fence he saw through his window. He got closer and he saw a far away dot and as he kept getting closeer he found out it was a boy sitting on the other side of the fence, Bruno said Hi to the boy and the boy said hi back. They keep talking and discover they both share a birthday together and they talk about where they come from and Bruno asks Shmuel why he lives in a fenced area. -
The Fury comes for a visit!
One day Bruno`s dad came home from work and said the Fury was going for supper thursday night and that everything had to be perfect for that night. After that everyone was stresses and got ready and right before the Fury showed up Father told the kids what to say to him and then he showed up with a nice lady who was very interested in the kids but the Fury wouldnt let her talk long and because of the Bruno thought he wasnt very nice. -
Shmuel talks abou this family!
Shmuel finally talked to Bruno one day about his family! he said they would eat breakfast as a family every morning at 8 and while the kids were at school his father wouold work. His dad was a watch maker and he even made one for shmuel but it was taken away. He said one day he got home from school and hsi mother made them each a armband to wear and then another day we had to move away and live with other familys and then we werer brought here. -
Bruno asks Shmuel about Pavel!
One day when Bruno was going to see Shmuel he was filling up his pockets with food for shmuel to eat and maria walked in and so Bruno asked her about Pavel and if he really is a doctor and Maria said he isnt a doctor but a waiter. So Bruno goes to see Shmuel and when he gets there he asks him if he knows Pavel but Shmuel said he doesnt and Bruno gets confused as to why he wouldnt know about someone living with him. -
Bruno asks Questions!
When Bruno would visit Shmuel he`d always ask if he could crawl under the fence to play but shmuel said no but one day when he was visiting Shmuel one day he decided he was going to ask him questions. He askes Shmuel why they all wear striped pajamas, Shmuel said that its what they give them to wear and that they take away their other clothes and are forced to wear them. Even though he doesnt like stripes. -
The imaginary friend.
Bruno was talking to Gretel one day when it was raining and without realizing what he was saying he said ``if it wasnt raining i would be out playing with Shmuel right now`` and Gretel got confused and asked who this Shmuel is and he told her it was his imaginary friend because he couldnt tell her he was real or she would tell on him. So he decided to let her make fun of him instead of not being able to see im again. -
The Lie
One day while Bruno was walking around in the house he saw shmuel in there cleaning cups. Bruno ran up to him and asked how he got to come in and he said because he has little hands to clean the glasses. Bruno decided to get some food for him to eat so he got him some and Shmuel began to eat then Lieutenant Kotler saw and came and got mad and asked if Bruno knows him and if he gave him food and he lied and said he doesnt know him and that he stole the food. -
Missing Grandfather.
When Bruno was visiting Shmuel one day he seemed very sad and Bruno asked him what was wrong and shmuel said that they cant find he grandfather anywhere. And Bruno said he would help him if he could and then he decided he could dig under the fence so he could climb under and shmuel could get him clothes to wear to match then he could go help him search. So they planned it out and were going to do it the next time. -
Bruno and his family arrive at Out-With.
When the arrived Bruno looked at the house he was already disappointed! His home in Berlin had so many things to do and things to discover unlike this new house. He didnt want to stay in Out-With he wanted to go back home. -
They Start school!
One day Bruno`s Dad decided it was time for the kids to start school again and even though Bruno thought is was weird to have a class room of just 2 kids his father did it anyway. One morning Bruno saw his teacher riding up to the house. As soon as he got there they started classes. History was their teachers favorite thing to talk about so he asked bruno what his family history was and all Bruno could think about was things about himself and how he misses exploring. -
Best Friends.
Bruno showed up at the fence ready to dig his way under and go help Shmuel find his grandfather. They begin to dig and Bruno changes into the Striped Pajamas and slips under the fence and they begin to search.As they are searching they go in a building then are force outside in a group and taken into another building and as everyone in the room are screaming the boys hold hands and tell eachother they are best friends for life!
