    The U.S Supreme Court decided that the racial segregation in public schools was violating the 14th amendment. This is significant because this stopped segregation in schools.

    He was killed when he whistled at a nice looking women behind the counter. This is significant because this shows hard segregation between blacks and whites.

    Rosa Parks stood up to a white man that wanted her seat on the bus. She later got arrested for doing so. This is significant because this helped the act against segregation.

    Four black students in Greensboro, North Carolina ordered coffee. They were refused there coffee because they were black. This caused a varied of peaceful protest's against segregation. This is significant because it proved that racial segregation was a real problem to the public.

    James Farmer made CORE that helped stop discrimination and they took two buses that had blacks and whites in the upper south and they were stopped by angry mobs. This is significant because it shows that some whites were with the blacks but it starts rebellions.

    James Meredith applied to a white collage but got refused many times so he filed a lawsuit saying they were discriminating him. When he was allowed in, a mob of more than 2,000 people on campus attacked people and they only stopped when President Kennedy's said stop. This is significant because it proved how raciest are country was back then.

    In September a white supremacists bombed a church in Birmingham, Alabama. Four young African-American girls were killed. This is significant because it shows the hate the whites had even if the blacks didn´t do anything wrong.

    Martin Luther King Jr gave his speech called ¨I Have a Dream¨ about him having a dream about segregation being demolished and blacks were equal to whites. This is significant because it shows that some blacks have authority to others.

    John F Kennedy made the Civil Rights Act that got 70% of African American vote on it. This is significant because it gave blacks more rights.

    A Civil Rights Organization urged whites to help build houses for the blacks but two whites and one black disappeared by the KKK and found dead. This is significant because it shows that whites were willing to help blacks even if there was negative consequences.

    On march 7th, 600 marchers got to Edmund Pettis Bridge, but they got attacked by state troopers. On march 21st, they marched for 3 days and had nearly 50,000 supporters. This is significant because it shows that the blacks were strong and willing to fight for there rights.

    Malcolm X was shot dead after a six year sentence in jail. He became a leader in NOI and got shot 15 times at close range. This is significant because it shows even after jail Malcolm still fights for his rights.

    Marten Luther King Junior is assassinated. This is significant because it shows that whites will rebel even if it is hard.
