  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War was between Britain and France.This War later lead to the worldwide struggle known as the Seven Years' war.Both of these wars made Britain loose a laden of money,which encouraged Parliament to pass the Stamp and Sugar Act.Both of these acts imposed taxes,and the colonists protested because they felt as though they didn't have to pay the taxes since they were not being represented in Parliament.This was the beginning of the birth of the American Republic.
  • The American Revolution

    The American Revolution
    In 1775,a war broke out between the British and the colonists in Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts.This war is famously known as the the American Revolution.In 1776,Congress voted to declare independence from Britain,following this was the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The American Republic's main argument was to have popular sovereignty, which is all government power comes from the people.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    With the many battles lost by the British they finally surrendered in 1781 at Yorktown, Virginia. So in 1783 British, French, and American diplomats signed the Treaty of Paris, ending the war. Finally the British recognized the independence of the United States. This when the American Republic finally go their independence.
  • The Redrafting

    The Redrafting
    In 1787,the Articles of Confederation was redrafted to better fit the Enlightenment ideals of the American Republic, such as a government ruled buy its people.This was the last step to establishing America's independence.

    "The Constitution becomes supreme law of the land"
    The Constitution became the nation's fundamental law. The Constitution created checks and balances, which means no one branch gets more power, its divided evenly. And this was how the government established democracy, which is the heart of the American Republic (no absolutism).The Constitution's symbol of freedom inspired European countries and some in Latin America.
