    This was a peace settlement made after WW1. It was signed at the Versailles Palace near Paris ,France. The Palace was considered the most appropriate place for the signing to be held. It was held in the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace becasue it could accommodate hundreds on dignitaries.

    The Beer Hall Putsch also called the Munich Putsch, was Hitler's attempt to overthrow the Weimar government. The Chancellor agreed to pay off the war reparations as demanded by the Treaty of versailles.On November 8th and 9th1923, Hitler used the anger felt against the Berlin government in Bavaria to attempt an overthrow of the regional government in Munich with the intentions to the take-over of the national government.

    In 1929 the stock market crashes because peopl ebuy stocks on credit and when the companies ask for their money they dont get it because there is no money in the funds.More than 3.2 million people are unemployed, up from 1.5 million before the October, 1929 stock market crash. Food riots begin to break out in parts of the U.S. due to no jobs and no money. FDR gets elected president and passes laws to get money flowing and after his 3rd presidency the Great Depression ends due to Peral Harbor.

    Stalin changed Russia from being a peasant country into being a superpower. He ruled by terror. He was born into a poor faily and became involved in politics and criminals activities when he was young.

    Was an out come of a long series of negotiations.Hitler had wanted the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia and the British Prime Minister Chamberlain tried talking him out of it. 5 moths later Hitler broke the agreement by attcking Czechoslovakia. Which made Britain and France look very foolish.

    Also refered to "The night of broken glass". This was attacks against Jews throughout Nazi Germany and parts of Austria. They broke all the glass in the Jewish owned stores buildings and Synagogues.

    This war took place in Westerplatte on September 1st 1939.The Polish army was defeated within weeks of the invasion.German units had more than 2,000 tanks and over 1,000 planes. They broke through Polish defenses along the border and advanced on Warsaw in a massive attack. After heavy shelling and bombing, Warsaw surrendered to the Germans on September 27, 1939

    Mussolini takes over
    Mussolini fired the head of Italy's foreign ministry after he made anti-war statements, and took over the position himself. He did this in order to avoid a diplomatic row with Germany. Mussolini fired his own son-in-law, Count Galeazzo Ciano.
