Thrown on a Train
On this day Lina and her family were taken out of their homes unonounced and thrown into a train headed to siberia. The only things she got to get into her suitcase were a couple pair of clothes paper and a pencil to write/draw on what happens from then on. -
Death of a Friend
A couple weeks after having her new born baby, a lady named Ona, a friend of Lina and her family, was shot in the head after refusing to work for the NKVD soilders. She was left on the side of the railroad and then keeping it motion Lina and her fanily were sent to work. -
Promise broken
The Soviet Union made an agreement with Nazi Germany that the to countries would stop fighting eachother. Germeny had saved its country from the begining of WW2 and was given land but then Nazi Germany broke the agreement and attacked the Soviet Union. -
Almost Death Experince
Lina's first job was to dig a hole. After digging it the solider they were being watched by, made Lina , Lina's mother, Mr. Stalas and others, climb into the hol side by side. To frighten them he shot a few bullets into the hole making it feel that he shot them in the hole. Luckly nobody was killed that day but, it did change people's mind about not signing the contract. -
The contract of a Life Time
One late night after a exhausting day Lina and the people at her "camp" were sent to the NKVD office and given a opprotunity to sign a contract. The contract that they would work 25 years for them under hard labor. The reward for signing the contract would be that they would be able to send letters to their loved ones and be able to work in the village. -
The Bombing
On December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. Nearly 2,000 american soliders and sailors died and about 1,000 were injured from the two hour bombing. Many battleships, airplanes and naval vessels were ruined. -

Jonas has an Illness
With many illnesses going around in Lina's hut, Jonas got scurvy. With red spots and blue gums ,that eventually turned black, Jonas was on the edge. But with the help from Andrius and a small can of tomatoes Jonas barely survived. -
The File
When Lina was drawing a picture for one of the NKVD soliders, Lina saw a file that might lead to where her father was. By luck and skill she had stole the file. By reading it she found that her father was in Krannoyarsk Prison. -
Leaving the Consintration Camp
One day, coming back from a long day picking beets, Andrius ran up to Lina with very important news. There was a least of people that were being sent to another place. It either lead to
America or another concintration camp. Lina and her family were on the list, but Andrius was not. -
Death of a Loved One
After being sent to another consintration camp , Lina found her mother talking to a NKVD soilder. Lina found out that her father was assasinated at the prison. He was shot for a crime that the Nazi's thought as a crime. -
Rest in Peace Lina's Mother
With scurvy going around once again Lina's mother was in great pain and sickness. It did not help that there was no food to eat, the harsh winter and the loss of Lina's father. So Lina's mother finally let go and passed away. All that was left was Lina and her brother. -
A Little Help From the Americans
One day while getting trapped in the hut by the terrifying winter. Americans doctor found Lina's hut. The American doctor supllied a little food water and medical needs to the hurt. This was enough supllies to survive for a little while longer. -
Rebellion of the anti nazies
People that were against the nazies and their leader rebelled. It started in Rhineland and had many people of all ages. -
The Death of the Nazi Leader
Rommel's defeat at El Alamein and the loss of North Africa to the Anglo-American forces were dominated by the disaster at Stalingrad where General von Paulus's Sixth Army was cut off and surrendered to the Russians. The Allies captured Sicily and Mussolini's regime collapsed in Italy. Also the Italians signed an armistice and the Allies landed at Salerno and after thatmany more disasters happened. Which lead to Hitler shooting himself in the head.
