    The "KKK" was a secret society of white southerners formed to harm the African Americans. The ending of the civil war made some white people very angry, to revolt against the ending of the war the southerners created the KKK. these people felt threatened by the change of life with out slaves.

    This was a lawsuit that tried to pursue equality in schools. Many Adrican American parents had tried to enroll their black children in white schools. Oliver Brown had started this suit to try and allow students to be accepted in both schools. After three long years, the suit was approved and it took a long tinme to have each state approve, but finally, our country was equal.

    On this day, an African-American woman named Rosa Parks had taken her daily routine by taking the bus to her normal destination. She did not know of what she was about to deal with, and did not know she would soon become a huge historial figure. A white man had ordered that she give up her seat so that he may have room in the front, and she simply refused. She was soon arrested for disobeying segregation laws, and was shortly bailed out from two others from seeing her courage for equality.

    On this historic day, MLK had made the famous 'I have a dream' speech. He was a baptist minister, and had finally had the last straw with segregation. This speech had a huge impact in history, and was the breaking point for when whites and blacks were treated equally. King was later assassinated 5 years later.

He fought for African Americans to have equal rights. His speeches encouraged people accross the world to stand up for what they believe in.

    These "Freedom Riders" were people that challenged the bus system. The law states the buses are desegregated. This angered many African Americans, therefore the freedom riders challenged the law by riding the white buses.
