  • Early Life of Bertrand Russell

    Bertrand Russel was born on May 18, 1872 in Trelleck, Monmouthshire, Wales into an aristocratic family. His full title was Bertrand Arthur William Russell, 3rd Earl Russell of Kingston Russell, Viscount Amberley of Amberley and of Ardsalla.
    He was a logician and a mathematics philosopher. Russel’s parents and sister died at an early age and he was then left in care of his grandmother who provided him with a private education at home which isolated him from other children most of his life.

    In 1901 he developed “Russel’s Paradox” and by 1903 he published the concept in The Principles of Mathematics. In 1905 he published one of his best know works On Denoting.

    Russel was a well-known political activist and in 1918 he was jailed for speaking publicly against the war and he spent his time in incarceration writing his book Introduction to Mathematical Philosophy.     In 1945 he published A History of Western Philosophy which is considered one of the most important philosophical works off all time. In it he discussed ideologies of philosophers through the ages.
