    The Battle of Fort Sumpter was held in South Carolina. The Battle of Fort Sumter was a union fort in the South and the Union had a hard time defending it. They surrendered 34 hours later. There were also 23 states in the Union(North) at the beginning of the War. There were eleven states in the Confederacy. The cause was that South Carolina demanded that the U.S.Army abandon its facilities in Charleston Harbor. The major effect of was that it marked the beginning of the American Civil War

    The Battle of Fredericksburg was an early battle of the Civil War.It started on December 11, 1862. It ended on December 15, 1862. It was against the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, and the Union Army of the Potomac. The effect was it was one of the greatest Confederate Victories in history. The cause was that the Union Troops were trying to push South into Virginia but the Northerners didn't want to. The Southerners also won the battle.

It was also the principal engagement of the Chancelleorville Campaign. The cause of it was that it resulted in a Confederate Victory that stoppped an attempted movement by Army of the Potomac against Northern Virginia. The effect was that it was a major Confederate Victory with roughly 30,000, making it one of the bloodiest battle in History.

It was between the Confederate States of America and the Union. The cause of it was that the Union wanted the states to remain free but the Confederate States wanted to keep Slavery. The effect was that it was the most longest battles.

What caused it was that the the first wave of Union troops attacked Petersburg, a vital Southern rail center 23 miles of the Capitol. The effect is that the Battle of Petersburg remsins the longest siege in American History.

    The Battle of Palmetto Ranch was the final battle of the Civil War. It started on May 12, 1865 and ended on Maty 13, 1865. The battle took place at Palmito Ranch near Brownsville. The battle was between the Union and Confederate forces. What caused the battle was that the Confederate wanted to hold onto the last hope of keeping their land. The effect of this battle was that it occured after the Civil Warhad been concluded over a month and both of the armies fought passionately.
