This was a huge victory for the rebels because it reduced Burgoyne's army in size by almost 1,000 men. This victory also led Burgoyne's Indian support to abandon him.

With the capture of over 7,000 British soldiers, negotiations between the United States and Great Britain bega. The negotiations resulted in the Treaty of Paris in 1783. This was a French-American victory
