The Battle of Britain was an arial battle that took place over Great Britian. -
Pearl Harbor
Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the US naval base near Honolulu, Hawaii. The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and almost 200 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died. -
Bataan Death March
The Japanese Army forced 76000 American and Filipino prisoners of war to march 80 miles with little food, terrible conditions, and often beat and abused. The prisoners were forced to do terrible things like bury other soldiers alive or drink from dirty water buffalo wallows. -
Battle of Midway
The Japanese lured US Navy into Midway but the US had already known of Japans plan to ambush them and set up an ambush of the ambush. -
D-Day
On D-Day Ally troops stormed 5 beaches of France in order to take back Europe for the Axis powers. -
Battle of the Bulge
This battle was towards the end of the war and was Hitler's plan to quickly end the war on the western front by splitting Ally front in half and then encircling Ally armies and forcing then to surrender. -
VE Day
Victory in Europe Day- The day when Hitlers replacement,Karl Dönitz, surrendered. -
Dropping the Atomic Bombs
When Japanese officials ignored the treaty offered and the threat of "utter destruction" the US dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, flattening the cities. -
VJ Day
Victory in Japan Day. The Day Japan surrendered and agreed to Ally terms.
