My Story: Snowy, The Diary Of Eva Fischer, Cabramurra 1958-1959
Eva Fischer has moved to the top of the world - Cabramurra, the highest town in Australia. Eva feels on top of the world too. Surrounded by people of every nationality, Eva makes new friends and tries foreign food - such as pizza. Eva also learns to ski and ride, and even learns that being half German maybe isn't so bad after all.

Mum did her Extra-Special Roast Pork, with crackling and applesauce, and loads of mushy pumpkin. Luckily Francesca and I had peeled twenty-three spuds!
Francesca didn’t believe we’d eat them all, but I had my usual six, Lizzie had five,
Jack had two, Dad and Mum had their normal three and two, and I’d allowed the same
for Mr and Mrs Hegarty. But Mrs H said she only wanted one, she was watching her figure.
I think she really wanted to leave room for the cake, she had a huge piece.
