After Breakfast at Tiffany's, Audrey's career not only consisted of acting but she was now considered a fashion role model. The Hepburn "look" was accessible with the pixie hair cut, the big sunglasses, and the well-known winged eyeliner. Her petite body type and "masculine" shaped clothes were polar opposties, but with Hepburn, it worked. She had a great career in the movie business and had the privilege to work side by side with some of the best actors in Hollywood. While delivering her speech, Hepburn seems very light-hearted and funny. Also, she seems extremely grateful for the life she had been given, given her circumstances as a child. Hepburn goes to Somalia with UNICEF
Hepburn went to Somalia as a Goodwill ambassador with UNICEF in hopes to promote Help the Orphans and Blind, an organization through UNICEF. Her work with the cause shows that she has a good heart and her ambition to help others less fortunate than she is overwhleming. Although she was no longer working in the film business she remained happy with her life through helping others (Hepburn in Somalia). -
Death
On January 20, 1993 Hepburn died from colon cancer in Tolochenaz, Switzerland. She was 63 years old and had been fighting cancer for the last few years of her life. "Her death from cancer was announced by Unicef, the United Nations Children's Fund, for which she had been a special ambassador since 1988" (New York Times).
