Oil In 1901 the Hamill brothers created the first spindletop. With this machine it allowed the brothers to dig far into the ground for oil. After going down a long distance they found the oil and it bursted into the air. With the spindletop it would allow gas for cars and would no longer require hunting for whale oil.

Hoover Dam' In 1931 the Boulder Dam was apprived and began construction. It took thousands of workers day and night to finish this project in 1935. 12 years after it was finished the name was changed to Hoover Dam.

Attack on Germany In 1942 America attacks Germany after they attacked Pearl Harbor. This war would be known as World War 2. This war cost more money than any other war.

Draft In 1940 President Franklin Roosevelt signed the Selective Training and Service Act. Those acts created a draft for solders. In order to draft people they came up with a lottery drawing and that would determine who enters war.

Cold War The Cold war began in 1945 and it was between the United States and the Soviet Union. Slavery was one of the biggest things that started the war.

Atomic Bomb On August 1945 American planes dropped the Atomic Bomb at Hiroshima. America created a code name which was little boy. This bomb helped end World War Two.

Military Desegregation President Harry Truman signed a law in 1948 that allowed whites and blacks to be in war together. This new changed gave blacks hope that soon racism will end.

Hollywood In 1923 a new land for the famous became reality and it was called Hollywood Land. The name would later change to just Hollywood. Many movie stars lived in Hollywood.

NBC In 1950 the NBC network was created. It brought many news and other tv shows. One of the hottest shows on NBC was Dragnet which was a drama show.

Kennedy Killed On Nov 1 1963 Kennedy was Assassined in this car during the climax of the Cilvil War. He was shot at the Dealy Plaza in Dallas. Kennedy later died that day.

Jeep These new jeeps allowed people to travel from point a to point b. The jeeps also transported weapons.

Men on the Moon President John. F Kennedy wanted to put people onto the moon and he did. The first people on the moon was Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. When the arrived on the moon they placed the American flag to show that they were there.

Concert The Wood Stock was a three day concert. There was about 50,000 people at the concert which made it the biggest concert in NYC.

Protest at Kent State' On May 4th 1970 Ohio National Guard fired into a large crowed at Kent State. That shot killed four people and wounded nine. The guard was called into the college because of a large group that was rallying for anti-war.

Watergate The watergate scandal was the biggest scandal in U.S. history. On June 17th 1972 five men got caught breaking into the building and was arrested. People claimed Nixion was apart of this scandal so congress began working on his impeachment but Nixion decided to resign.
