  • Copernicus
    May 25, 1543

    Copernicus

Nicholas Copernicus publishes his heleocentric theory on his death bed. He did this because if he had published it the day he had found out, the church would have him crucified.
  • Tycho Brahe
    Sep 14, 1576

    Tycho Brahe

Brahe founded the Uranaborg Observatory. He spent 25 years studing large contalations (300+) very precisely.
  • Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler

Kepler was chosen to be Brahe's assistant because he was not from a noble family, or one deeply connected with the church. Since he was bored out of his mind and had access to the worlds largest database and Copernicus' law, the greatest discovery was about to unravel.
  • Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler

Kepler published his first two laws of planetary motion after comparing Copernicus' law and Brahe's database.
  • Galileo Galilei

    Galileo Galilei

Galileo was the first person to use a telescope for antronomy's purposes. He then discovered that there were craters and sunspets on the moon.
  • Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler

Kepler now published his third and final law of planetary motion.
  • Edwin Hubble

    Edwin Hubble

Hubble discoveres that there are galaxies far far away.
  • Hubble

    Hubble

Hubble now discovered that all the galaxies are moving away from eachother at a contant rate. This lead to the Big Bang Theory.
  • Brian Schmidt

    Brian Schmidt

Schmidt and a small group of scientists discovered that all he planets are moving away from eachother at an accelerating. This contradicts the popular belief at the time that grvity would keep the galaxies together.
