Her paternal grandmother died, when she was only 2 weeks old.

Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany. Started gradually, eventually led to the death of millions.

Arlene wasn't an only child. She had one sibling, her twin brother JR. This is them when they were about 4 years old, out at their uncles farm.

WWII finally ends. She remembers walking through the streets with her brother and uncle and seeing people throw toilet paper (like streamers) out the windows in celebration.

At age 15, she started her 1st job as a ticket taker at the Vogue Theatre.

The day she married the love of her life, and became Mr and Mrs. Harold Wickersham.

Her 1st baby boy was born.

Arlene and Harold had twins.

The start of a nasty 9 year war. Arlene had many cousins in the war and a lot of them didn't come home. One of her 2nd cousins jet was shot down and they didn't even find the wreckage til years later.

They had their 1st and only baby girl.

Their last child was born.

When this happened, she was listening to the radio. She just started crying. From sadness and lost hope because she knew VP Lyndon B. Johnson would mess everything up.

While standing on the balcony of his motel room, he was hit by a snipper bullet without warning.

Father died of a ruptured gallbladder.

Her mother died from extreme illness. (Ashtma and chronic bronchitis).

Her husband Harold retired and they started going to Texas for the winter.

Harold was diagnosed with lung cancer, which ended their Texas vacations.

Died of a heart aneurysm. He was already in the hospital with a broken rib.

Her husband died from lung cancer.

Terrorist attack on the twin towers in New York, sparked the War on Terror.

She married her 2nd husband Richard, to become Mrs. Arlene Hoeffner.

Her 2nd husband died, also of Lung Cancer.

Meeting Arlene was one of the happiest days of my life. We didn't talk that long, but we laughed a lot in that short time. She's been through a lot in her life and she's still smiling. She really is an inspiration.

Not finishing high school.

Finish high school and get an education. DONT just stop at high school, go to college.
