Annie's Father died when Annie was 5 years old. She had to provid for her family since they were very poor and she was the oldest. She grew to the love of shotting when going into the forest and collecting meat for her family -
Drake County Infirmary
Annie was sent to the Drake County Infirmary because that was the only way for her mom know that she will be we'll feed.She works and cleans for the Edintond. They loved her like a daughter and treated her well until a man came and asked if Annie would come and work for him and his wife. There she was abused for 2 years but escaped and able to continue shooting. -
Frank Butler
Frank Butler was a professional shooter and traveled from town to town and liked to dare the people of that town by shooting. He was surprised when we found out that his challenger was Annie. 1st they began by shooting flying targets. She had beaten frank. -
Here comes the Happy Couple
After the shooting contest, Frank invited Annie and her sister and her brother in law to one of his shows. His most impressive acts was shooting an apple on the top of his dogs head. After the show Annie sent Frank a thank you note and the next year they were married. -
Let's Put On A Show
Annie wanted to decided to help Frank with his show. There was one time were his partner, John Graham was sick so Annie was in his place. She threw targets, clay pigeons and more . He must've been really nervous with Annie throwing the objects, because he missed a lot of the targets. Someone asked if she could shoot and she didn't miss one target which made everyone impressed. She renamed herself Annie Oakley because of the Neighborhood she grew up in. There show was renamed "Butler and Oakley" -
Buffalo Bill
Buffalo Bill was a famous circus performer. When Annie and Frank first saw and herd about the show they wanted to join but he said no. -
Sitting Bull
One day while Annie and Frank were performing a very important man was watching and wanting to meet them, Sitting Bull(he was the famous chief that defeated the american army). He didn't start paying attention till Annie stared shooting. He asked her to meet him the next dad and she agreed. He liked her so much that he "adopted" her. -
Joining B.B Wild West Show
In March, Buffalo Bills Shooter quit so he let Annie and Frank join the show.They stayed in the show for about 17 years. -
Lillian Smith in YNC
Lilian Smith was a good shooter but not as good as Annie. She first asked to come and join the circuis in 1886. Buffalo Bill decided it would be nic to had 2 women shooters but not Annie. She and Annie didn't get along.Yes, Annie was a shooter by she also was a lady and she was quite offend by Lillian rudeness to her. She and Lillian had lots quarrels and every where she stop she would boast about that shes better then Annie. -
Queen Victoria
The Wild West Show was Going to England! They were going to stay there for the entire summer. When the show Indian bored they were terrified. The beloved that someone had cast a spell and that they were headed into a storm. Before anyone knew it there was a storm. Annie was scared so bad she strapped her self to a chair.Later they arrived on England, Queen Victoria has still in her morning over her husband King Albert. Everyone one was surprise that she got to see the show and she Loved it! -
Annie Oakley in Paris
Annie Oakley was popular all over! There was one play she did called Deadwood Dick. She played a pioneer girl that was captured by the Indians and raised by Indians. It was pretty obvious when buffalo bill asked her for help for another play. What about Lillian smith? She left because the newspapers in Paris found out that she lied about her speed and accuracy. One time she was talking to the newspapers and saying that she wasn't plain old Annie and the newspapers thought she was dead! -
Train Crash
A train caring Annie, Frank and Buffalo Bill crashed by another train from Lexington. She survived so did frank but decided to leave the show and do other things. -
Annie Oakley Doing Drugs?
Annie was so made that smoke litterly came out of her ears! The drug dealer had used her name. She was not in jail and she immeditely wrote back to the papers saying that she wasn't in jail and she was fine. She might be a performer but she was a respectable woman as well! She filed at least a dozen law suits to the newspapers for saying she was a drug dealer. Every jury agreed that she did the law because her image was damaged. In 1910 she ended her last case. -
Annie and Franks Death
Annie Died in 1926. Frank was depressed without her and didn't eat. He died 18 day after her death
