I only applied to Texas A&M and Southwestern. I found out that I got in on the same day, but was given a big scholarship to come to Southwestern. I grew up around A&M's traditions and loved the atmosphere, but I had also been around SU a lot because my grandparents live close by. I always admired how beautiful campus was and soon found out that the education program was really great. I also thought that it would be nice for me to move away from home. I still love my Aggies though!

Class of 27 students
3rd in my class -
This is a classroom I did not enjoy so much. This experience turned me away from teaching this age level, even though I previously thought I would love it.

I LOVED THIS TEACHER!!! Also an Aggie fan, but the way she talked to her students and the love they had for her was amazing. I saw some great teaching strategies and really learned from her. She made me fall in love with this age level.

This was my placement for Action Research and I quickly realized that most of my research was what not to do. I was looking at student autonomy and how that boosts motivation. Not as bad as the Pre-K placement though. I still really loved this age group.

I applied for the job after a semester volunteering with OA and have loved it ever since. OA is a mentoring program that brings middle schoolers to Southwestern three days a week. I have has the same mentee since I started and this upcoming year is her last year :(

Morgan is a woman with autism and cerebral palsy as well as a couple other disabilities. The opportunity to work with her was given to me by a fellow classmate who also works with her. She has the kindest soul and always works hard. I do learning tasks with her as well as accompany her to her law office job and ACC.

Joining a sorority was always something that I've wanted to do. I found my home at Alpha Xi Delta whose philanthropy is Autism Speaks. Through AXiD, I have gained skills and opportunities that have helped me with my own identity and confidence.

I also LOVED this teacher!!! She explained what she was doing and why. She truly loved her students and they loved her back. I didn't want to leave them because they were just so cute!
