    Even though she was always sick as a kid, she was still an influential poet.. She gained fame by pushing Spartan forces away. She created a secret army so when the Spartans were taking over her secret army with slaves and remaining men saved the day.

    She was taught by her father, and became one of the top divers and swimmers of her time. During the Persian invasion, her and her father swam all the way to the Persian ship and sank it.

    Born in Miletus in Asia Minor, she was an important figure in Classical Athens. She established a girls’ school, surpassing the limitations imposed on women.

    Hypatia of Alexandria

    She was a philosopher, astronomer and mathematician in ancient Greece. She was the first recorded woman mathematician, and was the final head of the Philosophical School of Alexandria, as well as the keeper of the famous library.
