The U.S. government viewed involvement in the war as a way to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam as part of their wider strategy of containment. U.S. military advisors arrived beginning in 1950.

    On August 12th, 1961 East German Soldiers constructed a wall of barbed wire and concreted along the border of East and West Berlin. With help from the United States, East Germany experienced a rapid economic boost and with hard work grew, people lived well. The other side was not so fortunate and experience almost the opposite. The wall fell on the evening on November 9, 1989.
