    Focus on high quality early childhood programs drove public policy changes. Unfortunately, Montessorians were not a part of these discussions and had little input. AMS and AMI work separately on public policy issues.

    dedicated to improving academic degree and certificate programs for Montessori professional educators
  • National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector (NCMPS) founded

    Formed through a major grant from the New York Community Trust, at the request of Bill and Judy Scheide. Keith Whitescarver is NCMPS's founding director, and the late Jackie Cossentino, co- founder, was senior associate and director of research.
