Sugar Act
Britain placed a tax on sugar because of the debt that they had. .This made colonist very upset because they had to spend more even more money on an item that was widely used. -
Stamp act
This was another act placed on colonists by Britain. This act placed taxes on every legal document like, newspapers and marriage licenses. They even placed taxes on dice and playing cards. This obviously made colonists unhappy. -
Boston Massacre
This was a confrontation between colonists and British Soldiers. Some colonist were seriously injured and some killed. -

Tea Act
This act was placed on tea. Not only did they have to pay the extra tax they also could only buy from certain people. This made colonist upset because tea was something that was used a lot in the colonies. -
Turning Point
I believe the turning point is the Boston Tea Party. I think this because this was when the colonist were angered by the tea act and protested by dumping 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. The parliament was mad about this and soon punished them with the intolerable acts. The reason I believe that it was the Boston Tea party that changed everything is because the Intolerable acts probably wouldn’t happen if the Boston Tea Party of 1773 didn’t happen. -
Intolerable Acts
King George was angered at the colonists because of the Boston tea Party so he punished them with the intolerable acts. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
These were the first battles of the American revolution. This is famously known as the “shot hear around the world.” -
Olive Branch Petition
This was an attempt made by the colonists to avoid war. They sent this petition for peace and it was rejected by King George.
