    -The commanding officers were John Parker (MB) and Francis Smith (GB)
    - It was the first battle and the British were trying to destroy an armory in Concord
  • Fort Ticonderoga

    Fort Ticonderoga
    • Ethan Allen (Green Mountain Boys) and William Deplace (GB)
    • It was the first colonists victory
  • Bunker (Breed's) Hill

    Bunker (Breed's) Hill
    • Israel Putnam (UC) and William Howe (GB) were commanding leaders
    • Both sides were trying to capture Bunker Hill and took place during the Siege of Boston. Patriots killed a lot of British = morale boost
  • Trenton/ Princeton

    Trenton/ Princeton
    PRINCETON
    - George Washington (US) and Charles Mawhood (GB) were the commanding officers
    - It was a US win and it made the men believe that they could win the war
    TRENTON
    -George Washington (US) and Johann Rall (GB) were the commanding officers
    - captured Trenton and gave the Americans even more hope

    • The British gained control of the South and the Americans lost. (POW)

    • It was the major turning point of the war, the British started to retreat, and Burgoyne's campaign failed
  • King's Mountain

    • It became obvious that the Americans in the South would not back the British, British defeat
  • Yorktown

    • George Washington (US) and Charles Cornwallis (GB) were the commanding officers
    • The importance of this battle was it ended the war, America became free, and the British had many POW's along with a great number of dead soliders
