  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    This was the first battle of the revolutionary war. The battle of Lexington and Concord took place in the New England colonies. The British had found out that the colonists or patriots had a stock pile of weapons held in concord. The Briitsh decided to launch a sneak attack to get the weapons. Three men Paul Revere, Willliam Dawes and Samuel Prescott all set off for lexington to warn the patriot leaders

    Siege of Boston

    After the battle of Lexington and Conocrd 20,000 patriots surrounded Boston. This seige kept the British from cushing the rebellion and had the patriots scrambling to get weapons.
  • Siege of Ticonderoga

    This is when Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys attacked Fort Ticonderoga and took the supplies to Boston as fast as they possibly could
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    This is when the patriots had control of Bunker Hill which was a strategic spot since you could get more hits each time. The Patriots were able to hold off three waves of British troops, but could not hold off the last one due to not enough amunition and had to retreat. At the end of the day Bunker Hill was under British control.
  • Battle of Quebec

    This was an attempt by the patriots to get the British out of Quebec. The patriots were commanded by Colonel Benedict Arnold and General Richard Montgomery. The battle ended in Patriot defeat and cost Montgomery his life. The main goal was to win the battle so American could gain more support for the cause in Canada
  • Battle of Brooklyn Heights

    This was like the Battle of Bunker Hill, but this time the patriots took control and kept contriol of the hill. This was near where the British ships were and when the heavy artillery came the cannons could reach the British ships in the harbor
  • Battle of Trenton

    This is when Washigton launched a sneak attack on the hessians in Trenton and won which made the area under patriot control
  • Battle of Princeton

    Washington used the technique's that were succesfull in the Battle of Trenton in the Battle of Princeton and the result was another victory for the colonistis
  • Battle of Brandywine

    Thsi battle was fought in Pennslyvania against General Washington and his troops against General Howe and his troops. This battle ended in British victory. The British succeeded in driving the patriots out of the area and taking control of it

    Battle of Saratoga

    The goal of the British was to cut off New England from the other colonies and with the patriot wins at Trenton and Princeton the supply lines could be kept open. This was the largest victory for the patriots so far since this battle ended when Burgoyne's troops surrendered to Gates.
  • French Join the War

    In the month of February the French decided to ally themseleves with the colonists seeing that Britian was one of thier worst enemies. The French also believed that the colonists may win the war and the alliance caused Britian to having to fight a war in both the colonies and at home in Europe.
  • Capture of Savannah

    The British troops launched a sneak attack on the Patriot forces trying to defend the city from the British. The British under the commad of Lieutenant Colonel Archibald Campbell succeeded in the capture of the city. The Patriots who were ccmmanded under Major General Robert Howe realized going into the battle that they were severly outnumbered.

    Siege of Charleston

    This was one of the worst losses the colonists would face in the southern coloies. This seige was a series of battles that had the loyalists and british forces fighting against the patriots in south carolina.
  • Battle of Camden

    General Horatio Gates suffered a loss at Camden to the British who took control of the town. The British victory was in the southern coloniy of south carolina and was under the command of General Charles Cornwallis
  • Battle of King's Mountain

    This battle was fought in the soutern colony of South Carolina and was between the patriots and loyalists. Colonel William Campbell commanded the patriot troops and Major Ferguson's commanded the tory/ loyalist troops. The battle ended in patriot victory due to the high causalties and the fact that the tories were unable to surrender due hatred over how many british were in the Cariolina's
  • Battle of Cowpens

    The battle was fought in south carolina near the north carolina border. This battle was a victory for the colonists making it a huge turning point for them in the south. The British sufferd heavy casualties and lost with Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton commanding them. The commander of this patriot victory was General Daniel Morgan
  • Battle of Guilford Courthouse

    The battle took place at the Guilford Courhouse in North Carolina. This battle was between a large british army under the control of Cornwallis and the patriot's under command of Nathanel Greene. The British won the battle, but not without suffering huge losses. This battle led cornwallis to end his idea of getting the Cariolina's and instead shifted his focus to Virigina
  • Battle of Eutaw Springs

    This battle fought in Eutaw Springs South Carolina and was one of the bloodiest battles and the last major battle iin the south. The patriot force was commanded by Major General Nathanael Greene agianst the british force commander Lieutenant Colonel Stewart. Another Briitish troop though was hidden in one of the stone houses and when the patriots had thought they had succeeded in driving out the British this troop came in. This second battle lasted a while and ended in patriot victory.

    Battle of Yorktown

    This battle was fought in Yorktown Virgina and was between General Washington and his troops and General Charles Cornwallis. This battle was a patriot victory because of the French's help and a good stroke of luck. The british decided to set up base near the mouth of the chesapeake bay which the french were sailing up. Layfayette and troop of Patriots created a siege around the new british base. It ended with a surrender on the british side. This was the battle that ultimately ended the war.
