    The Supreme Court rules the Brown vs. Board of Education case that school segregation is illegal because of the doctrine "separate but equal" as school are "inherently unequal". As a result the Court rules the schools were being deprived for their equal protection of the laws that was guaranteed by the 14th amendment

    President Einsenhower sends troops to the public schools of Little Neck to operate on the desegregation in the schools. He did this because many states across the nation had mandatory segregation laws, requiring African-American and white children to attend separate schools. Resistance to the ruling was so widespread that the court issued a second decision in 1955, known as Brown II, ordering school districts to integrate “with all deliberate speed.”
