Foreign Affairs
Foreign Affairs had gotten to be a more important thing as the country grew more and more. The United States is very active with foreign affairs. We rely on other countries to give us certain supplies to live and vice versa. -
Imperialism
The United States had successfully practiced imperialism. Because of the many wars that the U.S.A. had been in, they had gained more power. The U.S.A. is now considered a world power country. -
Examples of Imperialism
There are many examples of ways that imperialism could be shown. A few would be economically, militarial and cultural. -
"The Jungle" by Upton Sinlcair
The book "The Jungle" was written by a poor man who researched everything that had happened to people that worked in the meat packing industry. The book had went into detail about how the meat packaging company took all kinds of items and made them into "meat" that was sold into stores. -
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
The FDA was created in 1906 because of the meat packaging industries. The FDA makes sure that all foods are clean and not mixed with weird chemicals, or different meat. The FDA made it a law that all packaged foods have to have all ingrediants labeled on the package. -
Henry Ford's Model T
The Model T was one the most famous cars og Henry Ford's time. So many people had bought the Model T. It was a new and exciting machine that people wanted to have. -
World War 1
World War 1 was started by Germany. Germany wanted to control every country in the world. This obviously didn't work. The end of the war had caused the end of the German Empire, and the Russian Empire. -
Isolationism
Isolationism was very effective for the United States, up until we joined the war. Staying out of other countries business did us some good. But also caused problems with allies. -
U.S.A. Entering the War
The U.S.A. entered the war for many reasons. One of these being to help our allies, Britain, France, and Russia. -
The Great Depression
The Great Depression was a time in the United States that the economy went downhill. October 29th 1929 the Stock Market crashed. This caused the troble all over the world. -
The New Deal
The New Deal was a plan to help get the economy back into shape. It had many things planned out too help, like creating organizations for work. -
Prosperity
Prosperity is a time of flourishing and wealth. Prosperity had come after the depression had ended. People started to geth there money back and started living life normallay again. -
The Cold War
The Cold War was a war that had no fighting happen. No soldiers had died in thsi war. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis was a scare between Russia and the United States. This scare lasted for 13 days. -
Technolody of Post Cold War
Because of the Cold War, most technology was taken away from the publics use. As soon as the Cold War was over these technologies were allowed to be used by the public again. -
The Change in Society from the Cold War
After the Cold War many of the countries controlled by the Soviet Union werefree. This made them open for trade with any country they wanted. The was a great advantage for the United States. -
The Fall of Comunism
THe fall of comunism was mainly a very good thing. But, there are a few consequences that come with it. One of these would be the United States had to cut back there spending in the Military. -
Arms Race
The Arms Race was a "race" between the United States and Russia. It involved the creation of nuclear weapins, and nuclear warfare, and who would be superior to the other.
