Columbus Discovers Americas
Christopher Columbus came over with 3 ships the Nins, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. On October 11th 1492, the ships landed on the island of Hispanola. If he did not discover America explores probably wouldn't have come over here and colonized America. -
Pligrims come over on the Mayflower
On September 6th 1620, A ship called the Mayflower left Plymouth England with 102 pilgrims. After 2 months of hard sailing the pilgrims of the Mayflower saw land, which is now Cape Cod Massachucetts. They made the Mayflower Compact which set up the colony's goverment and named this new land Plymouth Plantation. It was the first colony of England in America.Without it, America wouldn't be the same or not even here. -

American revolution
The American revolution started because the colonists were mad at England for taxing them unfairly. There were many battles such as, Lexington and Concord, the Battle at Bunker Hill and the Battle at Yorktown. If we never had a revoltion, England would have probably been taxing us unfairly for hundreds of years and we would have to follow British laws. -

The Civil war
This war started for many reasons, one of which was slavery.The North and the South had very different economic styles.The North had factories and bustling cites so they didn't need slavery and were against it.But as for the South it had acers of farmland and rural cities so it depended on slavery so much to get the work done.The North and the South went on battling each other for 4 years just so the North could have thier slave free country and the South just wanted to keep their way of life. -
Lincoln is assasinated
on April 14th, 1865 Abraham Lincoln and his wife were at Ford's theater enjoying a comedic play, when BANG! John Wilkes Booth an actor at the theater and a promoter of the South shoots president Lincoln in the back of the head behing the right ear. Booth runs out of the theater while Lincoln is taken to a house across from the theater. and at 7:22 am April 15th President Lincoln died. He was the first president ever to get assasinated. To this day we think of him and al the great work he did. -

Great Depression
On October 24, 1929 the stock market crashed in New York leaving investors with no money. This is what was known as The Great depression. It was the worst economic town turn in U.S. history. It left families homless and starving. Shopkeepers and buisnessmen had to sell ther stores and companies to the banks. The ecomomy was at its worst. But what broke us out of it ten years later was the start of WWII when the American economy was kicked into high gear. -

World War II
Germany's new dictator Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party armed and signed treaties with Italy and Japan for world domination. in 1939 Hitler and his forces invaded Poland causing France and England to join the war and soon the U.S. Over the next 6 years,45 million lives were lost. 6 million Jews died as part of Hitler's "final solution" also known as the Holocost. -
Pearl Harbor attacked
The morning of Decenmber 7, 1941 was just an ordinary day. Then sailors saw fighter planes in the sky and thought it was just a drill so the paied it no attention the bombs started falling. This wasn't a drill. Someone was attacking! Bombs dropping everywhere while saliors ran to battleships. 2,400 saliors died that day forcing America in to WWII. This caused, Japanese -Americans were put in incarnation camps and later the American bombing of Hiroshima Japan.
