    The Columbia Exchange
    The exchange was a trade between the "New World" and the Old World. The Old World would send animals, plants, diseases, culture, and modern technology of that time to the "New World', they would as well send slaves. The "New World" would exchange crops to Europe, this exchanged was named after Christopher Columbus.

    de las Casas was a bias which meant priest. He arrived in the New World in 1502. He noticed how the Europeans or Spanish people were treating the Native Americans and he didn't like it. He would write about how they were treated and send letters to Spain to inform the Spanish people of what was happening.

In February 1898 the USS Maine exploded in the Havana Harbor killing 266 US saliors. People were fast to blaim Spain and without looking for evidence US declared war on Spain on April 1898.

After the war is over US gains control of Cuba and Puerto Rico in the Caribbean and on the other side of the world they also gain control of the Philippines and Guam in the Pacific. After the war the US wasn't sure what to do with the Philippines many believed that they should take over and make the "civilized" others believed that they should leave it alone. The congress voted and annexed the Philippines as a US territory.

On D-Day Americans and British troops were dropped off on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of France's Normandy region. The allied warships and planes were in the coast.
