    On July 24, 1897, Amelia Earhart came into the world, she was borni in Atchison, Kansas at her grandparents house, the Otises.

    Sometime in the year 1900, when Amelia was only three, her father started drinking Alcohol. Their family's life was tough because Amelia's father, Edwin Earhart would lose his job because he drunk too much and lost concentration, this caused the family to move from place to place more often.

    Sometime in 1908, 11-year-old Amelia had to move to Des Moines, Iowa. There, her parents rook her to see an air show, where she saw an airplane for the first time in her life, but she was not interested at all, she said "It was a thing of rusty wire and wood and not at all interesting", but little did she know that she was going to be one of the most famous fliers in history.

So she took some money from her mother and got a job to pay for flying lessons with a woman flight instructor: "Neta" Snook.
