    Elias Howe originally invented the zipper but could not get the idea patent. 44 years later Whitcomb Judson, invented the clasp locker which had the same idea as Howe. There was never an actual date for this invention. The purpose of the zipper was to immediately close clothing.
  • Mailbox

    March 9, 1858 was the patent date. Mailboxs were for so people didnt have to go to the post office to send or to get letters.

    Alexander Grahm Bell - The purpose for the telephone was because it was much more conventent then the mail. Sometimes the mail would take days, weeks, and even months.
