    Osama bin Laden founded Al-Qaida in 1988 - late 1989 during and after the Soviet - Afghan War. Al-Qaida is a terrorist organization that want to pose Islamic governments in the Muslim world. It was created to use violence as the primary way for action and support for the group is limited.
  • Firsts attack on World Trade Center

    Firsts attack on World Trade Center
    A bomb, killing and injuring 1,042, exploding in a garage under the World Trade Center in New York. One of Bin Laden's associates, Ramsi Yousef, was sentenced to life with no parole for planning the bombing. This was their first attack on the US. Al-Qaida began attacking the US because they believed the US's support for non-Islamic governments was their reason for failure when trying to overthrow non-Islamic governments.

    The Sudanese stated that Osama bin Laden would never be allowed back into Sudan. Al-Qaida moved to Afghanitstan, which is controlled by the Taliban, to be more isolated from America's political influence.
