  • Albany Movement

    This movement was protesting against segregation policies in Albany and many groups took part in this protest like the SNCC, NAACP, and the SCLC during this protest MLK wanted to offer counsel rather than become a participant but he was jailed and had to decide between 45 days in jail or a fine and he chose jail to push for a change but was released 3 days later this movement eventually disbanded without accomplishing its goals.
  • birmingham campaign

    the Birmingham campaign had a goal of ending discriminatory economic policies in the Alabama city against African American residents they were dealing with financial problems and were boycotting businesses that only hired white people they used nonviolent tactics such as marches and sit-ins their efforts became successful when many business at Birmingham started hiring colored people
  • march on washington

    this was the biggest rally for human rights ever with 200,000 to 300,00 participants converged on the mall of Washington and this is where MLK delivered his famous I have a dream speech. some also credit this march with helping pass the civil rights act of 1964
  • Bloody Sunday

    this march went down as a bloody Sunday because the way state troopers became violent as the people kept trying to protest peacefully to the state capital.this march was aimed to fight for the lacking rights of black people
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    This happened after rosa parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white man and sit in the back so MLK proposed a city-wide boycott on public transportation and would walk or get rides. this boycott lasted for 381 days until a federal court ruled that segregated busses were unconstitutional and the supreme court eventually agreed.
