    More than 1,000 African Americans students attempted to march into downtown Birmingham which led to hundreds of being arrested.The next day more students arrived which led to police using aggression and force on the students.

    200,000 people took part on a march in Washington D.C. for jobs and more freedom.The march was successful and led to JFK to initiate a federal civil rights bill.
