Started December 5th, 1955, and ended December 20th, 1956. This was a peaceful protest of African Americans trying to stop the segregated bussing situation. African Americans refused to use the busses and would protest outside depots. The United States Congress finally declared the Alabama and Montgomery laws were unconstitutional

The little rock nine were African American students that enrolled into Little Rock Central High School and were a test of what the Brown vs. Board of education accomplished. The Arkansas Governor sent in the National Guard to prevent Black students from entering the building. President Eisenhower sent in Federal troops to escort the Kids into the school and out.

It started on February 1st, 1960 but continued through the year. It was a civil protest that started with African American students would go to counters of restaurants and dinners and if they were refused service they stayed till the place closed.

On November 14th, 1960, A six-year-old girl named Ruby Bridges enrolled and went on her first day at an integrated school. She was the first elementary African American girl to go to school. White Mods rioted and were violent. Ruby was Escorted by 4 Armed Federal Marshalls too and from the school.

Governor Wallace of Alabama stood in the doorway of the University of Alabama and refused 2 African American students from entering and enrolling. President John F Kennedy sent in the National Guard and the students were allowed to enter and enroll. That same day John F Kennedy make a address to the nation from inside the oval office talking about the civil acts right that will be singed in 1964

The Watt riots broke out on August 11, 1965, in Los Angeles and it lasted 6 days causing. .34 deaths, over 1000 injured, and more arrested. Also causing around $40 million in damages.

The black panther party was an organization founded in 1966. They dressed in black berets and black leather jackets. Their focus was to challenge police brutality against African Americans. They organized Armed Citizen patrols in cities, the organization later declined due to FBI activities targeting the organization and deadly shootouts.

The Kerner Commission was a commission appointed by President Lyndon Johnson. The commission released a report saying the primary cause of the riots that have been happening was Racism.

The Martin Luther King Assassination Riots were Riots that happened after the assassination of Martin Luther King. The most known riots happened in Baltimore (Maryland), Chicago (Illinois), Louisville (Kentucky), New York City (New York), and Washington, D.C. The anger and emotions that followed his passing caused many protests and marches but their anger came out and not all protests stayed peaceful.

June 24, 1969, A small party was happening in a vacant apartment in the Logan Fontenelle Housing, kids were having a party. Listening to music and Dancing, the cops were called to a possible robbery. When the cops showed up everyone ran then there was a gunshot. The police officer shot a 14-year-old in the back of the head. As soon as the news came out, Riots started people were enraged in the community.
