  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was a line created along the Appalachian Mountains that was used to restrict the colonist to move westward. England restricted the colonist because they didn't want to create conflict between the colonist and the native people which would cost another expensive war. The colonist didn't like this due to them wanted to expand westward.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was a new version of the Sugar and Molasses Act. It reduced the tax of sugar from six pence to three pence. However, this tax was enforced and more things were taxed like coffee, certain wines, and pimiento. The act also regulated trade.
  • Currency Act

    Currency Act
    This abolished the colonists currency and created a currency system based on the English currency. This will stop the disruption of trade and commerce. The colonists still used their own currency.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act put a tax on any paper documents and many items. This Act was strictly placed on the colonies because Britain needed money to pay off the Seven Year War debt. The colonist did not pay.
  • Quartering Act of 1765

    Quartering Act of 1765
    The Quartering Act of 1765 was a law placed on the colonists and said that the colonists must provide public housing to British Soldiers if they were a lot. The law didn't say anything about them having to provide them with private houses.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The declaratory Act was passed to ensure the dependency of the colonies with the British Crown. It allowed Parliament to approve or pass any law they see fit for the colonists and the colonists can not pass any law of their own. They also sent soldiers to ensure this law and any other law to be heard.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was passed to tax imported goods to the colonies such as tea, paper, china, lead, and paint. This was used to pay Governments and judges to ensure loyalty to the British Crown. Colonist protested by not buying the goods.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a fight that ended in bloodshed. Colonist started attacking Private Hugh White who was guarding the King's Money. Hugh called reinforcements and bells ranged through the whole town which called out many colonists. A soldier fired which caused other soldiers to fire and they killed five colonists and six wounded. Colonists got mad and fought against the redcoats.

    Boston Tea Party took placed at Griffin's Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts. Colonists were angry that they were being taxed without no representation. It was where colonist threw 342 chests of tea imported by the British East India Company. This event was led by a group called Sons of Liberty that disguised themselves as Native Americans.

    The Intolerable Act was a series of acts that were placed on the Colonist by Parliament. It was to show who has the power.
  • Quartering Act of 1774

    Quartering Act of 1774
    This is one of the Intolerable Acts. The Quartering Act of 1774 allowed Royal Officials to choose where British Soldiers can be housed. This allowed them to place any British soldier into any city. This enraged the colonists who were trying to keep their distance from the redcoats.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    The Quebec Act was passed to answer certain questions of what to do with the province of Quebec. The Act allowed Roman Catholics to become officials and allowed French Civil Laws and changed the criminal laws to English. It also revoked the Proclamation of 1763. It gave the land to the French rather to the Americans. The colonist were mad and protested.
